Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Home Staff to join our team at Our Three Hearts Care Home. As a Care Home Staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our elderly residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity are always maintained.
Mobility Assistance: Support residents with mobility, including helping them move around the care home and assisting with the use of walking aids or wheelchairs.
Health Monitoring: Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in physical or mental health, and reporting any concerns to the nursing staff.
Meal Preparation and Assistance: Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements and assist residents who may need help with eating.
Social Interaction: Engage residents in social activities, conversation, and recreational activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
Medication Support: Assist with administering medications as directed by the nursing staff, ensuring residents receive their medications safely and on time.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by assisting with light housekeeping duties, such as making beds, cleaning rooms, and laundering personal items.
Record Keeping: Accurately document care provided, including any changes in residents' conditions, and maintain up-to-date records in compliance with care home policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Compassion and Empathy: A genuine desire to help others and provide high-quality care to elderly individuals.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
Patience and Understanding: The ability to remain calm, patient, and understanding when dealing with residents who may have physical or cognitive impairments.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, particularly when it comes to monitoring residents' health and well-being.
Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other care staff, nurses, and management to ensure the best care is provided.
Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as care homes operate 24/7.
Experience: Previous experience in a care home or similar setting is preferred, but not required; full training will be provided.
Must be age 18 or over.
DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearances.
Current first aid certification, health screening and negative TB test (test must be performed less than 6 months and can be completed within 7 days of hire).
Able to lift 20 pounds unassisted and push 40 pounds unassisted.
And will comply with facility policies and procedures and State Licensing guidelines.
